Ocean data can change quickly and public feeds can be delayed or corrected upstream. This page explains how to report a problem clearly so SwellOracle can review it.
You can report an incorrect station name, location, source label, broken source link, unavailable feed, duplicate page, misleading model label or a reading that appears inconsistent with the original provider.
A delayed or missing reading is not always an error: providers may update on different schedules or temporarily suspend a feed. Reporting it still helps us review the presentation and source status.
Send the SwellOracle page URL, the station identifier when available, a short description of the issue and the original source link or screenshot if you have one. Do not send passwords, payment details or sensitive personal information.
For a reading issue, include the observation time you are comparing. A buoy value without its timestamp is often not enough to determine whether there is a data problem.
Reports are checked against the upstream provider and the station metadata stored by SwellOracle. If an issue is confirmed, we correct the relevant page, station label, source status or link and update the review date when appropriate.
When a provider changes or retires a feed, we may mark it unavailable or remove it from active coverage rather than keeping a misleading live-data claim.
To report a data issue, contact support@swelloracle.com with the subject “SwellOracle data correction”. We use the report only to investigate the issue and respond when additional context is needed.
The clearest correction report includes the page URL, station ID, observation time and original source.
